Below, what we started with, just a nice flat pad.

Above is the site just cleared off, then with foundations ready for concrete pour. On the left is the poured floor stained with ferrous sulfate. The underlying colour is a bit hard to see; the white stuff is the concrete "rind" which, when washed off, leaves a beautiful mottled brown, tan colour. With a concrete floor, there's no carpet to clean, no wood flooring to maintain or anything other than some good area rugs and a really nice marbley-looking floor . The concrete has been saw-cut in 4 foot squares for looks and also to reduce small cracks.
